
dr. Elisa van den Heuvel
Elisa van den Heuvel is a handwriting expert and psychologist. She obtained her Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2000, focusing on the control and timing of fine motor hand and finger movements. She worked as a scientific researcher at the Netherlands Forensic Institute, where she has been trained as a forensic handwriting expert.
She has several scientific publications in this field and has given numerous conference presentations and workshops. Since 2023, she has been a researcher at Lecorate Forensic Research at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Technology. In the same year, she founded the Bureau for Forensic Handwriting Analysis (BFHO) to offer her expertise as a handwriting expert in civil or criminal proceedings.

Codi Young, BA
Codi Young is studying law at the University of Amsterdam. She has been working as a research assistant and trainee handwriting expert since the establishment of BFHO. She reviews all case information upon receipt of documents, removes contextual information before the start of the comparative handwriting analysis, requests additional research material if necessary, and verifies the research results and reports.
